The new STEM Center at American River College serves as a gateway to this thriving Sacramento community college.
The landscape design provides two new key pedestrian corridors that help orient students and visitors to the college as they enter from the main surface lots and parking structure. The heart of the project includes a new courtyard that provides a garden-like setting for studying. A work-yard for the Engineering students, spills out from the lab classrooms, offering a place to test materials and build prototypes outdoors, supporting their studies.
This project commenced at Meyer + Silberberg Land Architects with Ramsey Silberberg as Principal. The project was awarded to Mantle which serves as the Landscape Architect of Record.
