Summary of Position
Mantle is seeking a Landscape Designer/Architect with 2-5 years of project experience working from concept through construction. You will be responsible for day-to-day communication, design and coordination of projects and assisting the firm’s senior leadership in working with our client’s. In this role, you are expected to demonstrate professional landscape design knowledge and expertise, technical acumen, attention to detail, and a positive team spirit. Continuous learning and staying current with professional and technical developments are required. Additional key responsibilities include sharing professional knowledge, quality assurance, and maintaining project timelines and budget.
Responsibilities
• Gather appropriate project data, set-up and maintain project files
• Participate in design, sketching, concepting and presenting ideas
• Assist in managing the workflow and production of the project team
• Prepare all aspects of client presentations
• Research materials and construction practices
• Assist in preparing specifications
• Oversee production of project deliverables including construction documents and permit submittals
• Review cost estimates and assist with creative solutions to value engineering
• Quality control of project documentation
• Construction Administration including RFI’s, clarifications, changes, site visits and field observation reports
• Assist in project close out procedures
• Proactively maintain and advance professional skill-set
• Assist in mentoring staff as they build knowledge and skills
• Maintain ongoing, positive relationships within the studio, our design collaborators, and clients
Requirements & Skills
• Graduate of an accredited landscape architecture or architecture program
• Experience working in a landscape architecture or architecture firm
• Knowledge of Revit or willingness to learn
• Knowledge of Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of Grasshopper, Rhino, Autocad, Sketchup, Lumion a strong plus
• Passion for design and detail-driven execution
• Proactive, with a high level of organization
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A love of collaboration both within a design practice and with the larger project team
• Sense of humor and comfort working in a small office
• Interest in promoting process improvement
• Strong technical skills that are proportional to your experience; some experience working on all design phases of a project from Concept through Construction Admin
