UCSF Research & Academic Building
• San Francisco, CA
• 2021-current
• CLIENT: Boldt
Landscape intentionally surrounds three sides of UCSF’s new Research Academic Building to support patients and employees at SF General through healing, sustainable, safe and secure design approaches.
The landscape also fulfills a great need to provide a gateway that will bring clarity to the way that people enter and navigate the SF General campus. Design features include wayfinding through the use of low concrete walls and drought tolerant plant materials; gathering areas for clinic patients; therapeutic and contemplative garden space; accessible pedestrian entries and circulation routes from 23rd Street; building entries that are marked with inviting trees and bike racks.
